BABA MIROSLAVA

This is a painting I made many years ago. I copied a photo of my Serbian grandmother onto film and incorporated it in the painting. There is gauze and other material pasted on as well because I remember the rough feel of some of her clothing. Her back was bad from working the fields and she needed a cane everywhere she went. She treated me like a princess and always said "Ti si moje sunce" which means "You are my sun(shine)".
